Chances are you already have a vision of what your bike would look like, so we’ll want to talk about aesthetic details and the kind of parts you want to use on your frame. If you need advice about part choice, or if you want me to build up a complete bike for you, that’s no problem. There aren’t many builders who work in a variety of styles—usually it’s either all TIG or all lugs. I like them all and have the necessary expertise, and that’s why I’m willing to weld or braze.

If done properly, a TIG welded bike is just as strong and light as a brazed bike, and vice versa. My lugged frames are all silver brazed in order to keep the amount of heat applied to the frame to a minimum—this keeps the metal stronger. All TIG welded frames are purged internally with argon to help the steel maintain its integrity.

The tubing I use generally comes from Dedacciai, Reynolds, and True Temper. Since each bike is different, I may use only one brand, or a mixture, depending on what will work best for your frame. If you prefer any one brand, please don’t hesitate to make your request.

As for fitting, I like to be able to meet in person to perform the fit (and get to meet you), but that’s not always possible. If you have a trustworthy shop that handles frame fitting, we can work together to find your body dimensions. Or you can have a friend help you take measurements of your body, and we’ll go from there.

Once the frame is complete, you can have it either powder coated or painted. Currently I send my frames to Loomis Powder Coating in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, or Vicious Cycles in New Paltz, New York. Both are great at what they do. When the painting or powder coating is complete, just pay the remainder that is due and we can arrange for the delivery of the frame.

With a deposit of $500 we can start working together so I can make what you’re looking for.
